Brazil GPA gets 25% stake from Coelho Diniz family
The Coelho Diniz family has increased its stake in GPA (PCAR3). The company disclosed the information on the evening of Friday, the 26th.
André Luiz Coelho Diniz, Alex Sandro Coelho Diniz, Fábio Coelho Diniz, Henrique Mulford Coelho Diniz, and Helton Coelho Diniz informed GPA that their combined holdings now represent 25.10% of the company’s total outstanding common shares.
Each of the five family members holds an identical number of shares. Andre Luiz Coelho Diniz owns 24,734,200 shares, which corresponds to 5.02% of the total common shares. Alex Sandro Coelho Diniz also owns 24,734,200 shares, or 5.02% of the total. Fabio Coelho Diniz holds 24,734,200 shares, representing 5.02%. Henrique Mulford Coelho Diniz is the holder of 24,734,200 shares, equivalent to 5.02%. Helton Coelho Diniz likewise owns 24,734,200 shares, accounting for 5.02% of GPA’s total common shares.
The increase in the family’s stake comes as GPA continues to navigate a competitive retail environment in Brazil. The company, which operates supermarket chains such as Pão de Açúcar and Extra, has been focusing on cost-cutting measures and store renovations to improve profitability. The Coelho Diniz family’s larger ownership position signals continued confidence in the company’s long-term strategy. GPA’s shares are listed on the B3 stock exchange under the ticker PCAR3.
