Brazil Markets Today: Embraer Results, Cemig, Compass, Caixa, PetroReconcavo

Global markets showed mixed movement on Friday. Brent crude oil rose 0.13%, trading at $100.1 per barrel. Gold for February 2026 delivery gained 0.42%, reaching $4,730 per troy ounce. In China, iron ore futures on the Dalian exchange closed 0.06% lower at 814.5 yuan ($119.69). This price movement can affect shares of Brazilian mining companies Vale and CSN Mineração.

In pre-market trading on Wall Street, Dow Jones futures were up 0.29%, S&P 500 futures rose 0.46%, and Nasdaq futures gained 0.66%.

Embraer reported adjusted net income of 145.4 million reais in the first quarter of 2026, excluding extraordinary items of 29.4 million reais related to Eve results. This compares to 299.9 million reais in the same period last year. Net income attributable to Embraer shareholders was 174.8 million reais, or 0.2429 reais per share, compared to 434.0 million reais and 0.5909 reais per share in the first quarter of 2025. The company decided to stop classifying deferred taxes as extraordinary items starting in 2026. Adjusted Ebitda reached 749.4 million reais in the first quarter, up from 631 million reais a year earlier.

Compass Gás e Energia set the price for its initial public offering at 28 reais per share. The offering included 100,892,857 shares sold by Cosan and other selling shareholders, totaling 2.824 billion reais. Cosan granted Bank of America Merrill Lynch an option to purchase up to 13,392,857 additional shares, or up to 15% of the base offering, for price stabilization purposes. If all supplementary shares are sold, the total offering could reach 3.199 billion reais. Cosan’s direct and indirect stake in Compass will drop from 88% to 77.25%, or 75.37% if all supplementary shares are placed.

B3 posted recurring net income of 1.5 billion reais in the first quarter of 2026, a 33.1% increase from the same quarter in 2025. Recurring Ebitda was 2.05 billion reais, up 23.9% year over year. The exchange reported record revenue of 3.2 billion reais, a 20.5% increase. The company said results were driven by higher market activity and consistent growth in recurring revenue. In derivatives, average daily volume reached 13.2 million contracts, up 16.4% from the first quarter of 2025. In equities, average daily trading volume in the spot market totaled 34.8 billion reais, growth of 46.0% from the first quarter of 2025.

Magazine Luiza posted an adjusted net loss of 33.9 million reais in the first quarter of 2026, reversing a profit of 11.2 million reais in the same period last year. On a reported basis, including non-recurring items, the loss was 55.2 million reais. Adjusted Ebitda fell 5.4% year over year to 717.6 million reais. Total sales, including the marketplace, dropped 5.6% to 15.2 billion reais.

Allos reported net income of 248.3 million reais in the first quarter of 2026, a 2.5% decline from the same quarter in 2025. Adjusted Ebitda rose 10.2% to 502.2 million reais. Net revenue grew 9.8% to 692.4 million reais.

Azzas reported recurring net income of 63.9 million reais in the first quarter of 2026, a 45.7% drop from the same period in 2025. Recurring Ebitda fell 23.2% to 328.5 million reais, with margin down 2.7 percentage points to 13.2%. Net revenue declined 8% to 2.47 billion reais.

Engie Brasil reported adjusted net income of 789 million reais in the first quarter, a 4.1% decrease from the first quarter of 2025. Ebitda reached 2.24 billion reais, up 10% year over year. Net operating revenue rose 13.1% to 3.4 billion reais.

Sabesp reported adjusted net income of 1.55 billion reais in the first quarter of 2026, a 32.2% increase from the same quarter in 2025. Adjusted earnings were 0.44 reais per share, compared to 0.34 reais per share a year earlier. Ebitda grew 26% to 3.8 billion reais. Adjusted net revenue rose 10.9% to 6.021 billion reais.

Alupar’s board approved interim dividend payments for the first quarter of 2026. The total amount is 69,221,642.07 reais, or 0.07 reais per common and preferred share, and 0.21 reais per unit. Payment will occur within 60 days of approval. Shareholders registered on May 14, 2026 are entitled to the dividends. Starting May 15, 2026, the company’s units will trade ex-dividend. Alupar reported consolidated regulatory net income of 148.9 million reais in the first quarter, up 6.3% year over year. Regulatory Ebitda rose 15.9% to 794.7 million reais. Regulatory net revenue grew 16.3% to 996.8 million reais.

Cemig announced that its board elected Alexandre Ramos Peixoto as chief executive officer. Peixoto has worked in Brazil’s electric power sector, with positions at the National Electric Energy Agency, the Ministry of Mines and Energy, and the Energy Research Company. Since 2023, he has chaired the board of the Electric Energy Trading Chamber. At Cemig, he previously served as director of regulation and institutional relations. He replaces Reynaldo Passanezi Filho.
