Brazil announces Petrobras $1.7B dividend payout

Petrobras announced on Monday, May 11, that its board of directors approved the payment of R$ 9.03 billion in shareholder remuneration. The amount is equivalent to R$ 0.70097272 per outstanding common and preferred share. This payment is an advance on the remuneration related to the 2026 fiscal year, declared based on the balance sheet of March 31, 2026.

For holders of Petrobras shares traded on the B3 exchange, the record date is set for June 1, 2026. Shares will trade ex-rights starting June 2, 2026. Shareholders who own the stock on the record date will be entitled to receive the payment.

The proceeds will be paid in two installments during August and September 2026. The first installment, valued at R$ 0.35048636 per share, will be paid on August 20, 2026, entirely in the form of interest on equity. The second installment, also valued at R$ 0.35048636 per share, will be paid on September 21, 2026, also entirely as interest on equity.

These payments will be deducted from the shareholder remuneration to be approved at the Ordinary General Meeting in 2027, which will cover the 2026 fiscal year. For the calculation of this deduction, the values of each installment will be adjusted by the Selic rate from the payment dates until the end of the current fiscal year.
