Brazil Axia and Alupar win transmission auction

Two companies won transmission line auctions held by Brazil’s electric energy regulatory agency.

Alupar Investimento (ALUP11) announced on Friday that it won Lot 7 of the Transmission Auction No. 01/2026 – 2nd Stage, organized by the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel). The company won through the Consórcio Olympus XX.

The Annual Permitted Revenue (RAP) for the lot is R$ 96.72 million. The Aneel capital expenditure (Capex) is R$ 1.089 billion. The deadline for energization set by Aneel is June 2031. The concession period is 30 years.

Lot 7 will serve the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo, covering the North, East, and South sub-regions, as well as the ABC region. Alupar said in a statement that the win confirms the company’s strategy of expanding its transmission concession portfolio with careful selection of projects that provide adequate returns for shareholders.

Axia Energia (AXIA3) won lots 8, 9, and 10. The company secured Lot 8 by offering a RAP of R$ 10.8 million, a discount of 59%. This lot includes approximately 6 kilometers of overhead lines and 300 MVA of transmission capacity in Mato Grosso do Sul state.

Axia also won Lot 9 with a RAP of R$ 16.2 million, a discount of 57.2%. This lot covers 19 kilometers of overhead lines and 300 MVA of transmission capacity in São Paulo state.

The company also took Lot 10 with a RAP of R$ 23.75 million, a discount of 51.8%, to operate 600 MVA of transmission capacity in Mato Grosso state.

The RAP is the amount that electric energy transmission companies receive for providing the public service.
